Professor Sabieh Anwar is a physicist and founding faculty member of the School of Science and Engineering at LUMS. His work has inspired a national movement to transform how science is experienced and taught at the school level, making him a key voice in reimagining science education in Pakistan.

Professor Imran Anwar served as Chair of Mathematics at LUMS and works closely with schools across Pakistan. Shiraz Hasnat

Shiraz Hasnat is a seasoned Pakistani journalist with over two decades of experience in broadcast and digital media. He currently serves as Director News & Digital Media at the English-language channel of Express Media Group. Previously, he held senior editorial roles at Hum News, Dawn News, and Express 24/7. A former Senior Vice President and Finance Secretary of the Lahore Press Club, he has represented Pakistan internationally through fellowships with institutions including Oxford University, the East-West Center, and the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). He also teaches media and communication studies as visiting faculty and brings valuable insight into media literacy, communication, and civic awareness.

Professor Dr. Savera Mujib Shami is an accomplished academic, researcher, and media development expert with over two decades of experience in communication studies and digital innovation. She is the Founding Chairperson of the Department of Digital Media at the University of the Punjab, Lahore. Her work includes leading Pakistan’s first Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Strategic Policy Framework, a UNESCO-supported initiative, and a Digital Resilience Project with the Canadian High Commission focused on empowering women journalists. Her research and advocacy center on gender representation, misinformation, and digital ethics, making her a key advisor for responsible media and digital citizenship education at SAGE.

Dr. Muhammad Tariq

Professor Muhammad Tariq is among the founding faculty of the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). As the Founding Chair of the Department of Biology at LUMS, he played a pivotal role in establishing what has grown into one of Pakistan's leading research departments in cell and molecular biology. Professor Tariq founded Pakistan's first Epigenetics and Gene Regulation Laboratory, a pioneering research group dedicated to understanding how living cells acquire and maintain their identity which is a fundamental question at the heart of modern biology with profound implications for human health and disease. His laboratory employs the fruit fly as a model organism, a globally recognized research system, and remains the only such research group of its kind in Pakistan. Over his career at LUMS, Professor Tariq has mentored generations of students and researchers, many of whom have gone on to pursue advanced studies and careers in the sciences both in Pakistan and internationally. His commitment to building scientific capacity in Pakistan reflects a lifelong belief in the transformative power of rigorous education and curiosity-driven inquiry. Professor Tariq holds a PhD in Cell Biology from the Friedrich Miescher Institute (FMI) in Basel, Switzerland, and completed his postdoctoral training at the Centre for Molecular Biology (ZMBH), University of Heidelberg, Germany. He subsequently served as a Senior Researcher at ETH Zurich, one of the world's foremost scientific institutions, before returning to Pakistan to join LUMS.
